I am writing regarding a violent situation that is increasingly getting out of hand here in Lorain County, Sheffield Township, and surrounding areas. I am speaking of the violence, and drive-by shootings, and the helplessness of the Police and Sheriff Department due to lack of government funding. On a scale of 1-10, this has become every bit of ten. Some of these criminals are also walking to the homes and checking doors for entry! (We the neighborhood) are working with the Lorain County Sheriff’s Dept, and the City of Lorain Police Department to try and put a stop to this and hopefully catch this criminal before we have another Pike County massacre. These criminal/criminals are very bold and brazened and proud of their actions.

Lorain County Sheriff's Department and The City of Lorain need funding so that they can hire and train more officers to protect our city and county. Every night there are so many drive-by shootings, so many people at risk and we are in dire need for more officers on patrol in both the cities and county.

It is an atrocity that any citizen in our county should have to worry about police and sheriff coverage. We should not have to worry about who is going to get shot next, we should be able to sleep at night like you, knowing that if we call the police or sheriff departments their response time is less than 7 minutes, which is even too long. We have three Sheriff's that patrol 923 Sq. Miles, and a shortage of officers in the City of Lorain. Mr. Governor, you must correct this atrocity before more people die, or you might end up with another Pike County Massacre. Criminals are aware of the shortage.
