Jack Hendrix started this petition to Governor Mike DeWine and

Well well well, here we go again. A team that has been counted out all year. A team that has gone through so much. It is truly an inspiring group of players to watch. From Justin Fields playing through what looks like a shattered rib cage to Haskell Garrett coming back from a freaking bullet to the face - they continue to fight.

It's been six years since I last sat down at my computer to write a petition. Looking back on that team, Zeke and Cardale were some of the most entertaining players to ever come through this university. And now, Justin Fields - arguably the best quarterback to ever put on the Scarlet & Gray - is poised to make his mark on Buckeye Nation. Well, let's party Columbus.

On January 11, 2021, The Ohio State Buckeyes will play The Alabama Crimson Tide in the 2021 College Football Playoff National Championship. As many of you know, this game will take place late on a Monday night and even though it may be virtual, Ohio students are scheduled to be in class the following Tuesday. I'm here to change that.

After the 2020 we just went through, I am calling on Ohio Governor Mike DeWine to cancel school on Tuesday, January 12 - the day after the CFP National Championship.

The game is slotted to come on the air at 8:00 pm EST with kickoff not happening until about 20 minutes after. The average length of a college football game is 3 hours and 24 minutes and this doesn't even account for the added commercial and halftime show time in a National Championship.

Now more than ever, we need to come together as a state. We need something we can all rally behind and get us to the end of this pandemic. Let's rally behind our Buckeyes. Let's come together and fight for our boys as a team. Let the kids watch the game.

Right now, come together as a team. Come together as Ohioans.
