The city of Ogden deserves a Turf Field and it is long and overdue. when it comes to fields and parks in Ogden we do not have the best ones and always have soccer nets being removed by the city. Soccer is clearly a highly played sport in the city of Ogden but it is difficult to play with very horrible fields and with no nets, that is why we see a lot of our fields abandoned. Marshall White Community Center actually has a very cool Futsal Field but even that one is abandoned and discarded by the city, It is not taken care of and the lights that were built for it do not even work. Take Odyssey Park for example a park with soccer boxes but not even a slight bother from the city to add nets to the soccer boxes and horrid care of the field on its own which is just one example of the care the city has for our local field and the sport of soccer. 

Recently St. Josephs Catholic School built a synthetic turf field that is beautiful and is exactly what is needed but is private and i can tell you that from personal experience of showing up and being kicked out for simply attempting to set up a friendly pickup game. the few turf fields that we do have are private such as Ogden High and Ben Lomond. My Friends and i have been removed from playing at these turf fields which is completely understandable considering it is a school.

The Solution? A public synthetic turf field for pick up games is just what we need in a city where soccer is taking over. a park for public use only and open to the public with no reservations in place. This could take place in a already currently built park like Monroe Park for example. the specifics can come later but what we need right now is approval or at least a sign of care from our city council to improve our fields to be able to play soccer the proper way the same way schools play football on their proper turf football fields. LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN.
