This puts our children at increased risk without any evidence of helping the homeless. Please reconsider other options.

I live here and I think there's far better ways to support the local homeless community effectively and keep our neighborhoods safe. This park should be used for recreation and our neighbors deserve to feel safe walking past it at night. This park already has a huge homeless problem, with many homeless residents needing medical attention acting aggressively towards our community members, especially women. We should not cultivate that but rather find alternative ways to help the homeless. We deserve a safe park free of encampments. This will only worsen the situation.

We must not do anything to make our home more attractive to homeless / pirates

My son is in the Westminster Elementary district and this homeless storage project draws known criminal and mentally unstable people to the property across the street. Also, it's an illegal use of the land per zoning. It endangers the neighbors on Pacific, Westminster and all surrounding blocks. Further, homeless belonging storage doesn't work, per the current storage on the boardwalk. Finally, why not take the $1M annual budget and use it to change lives not just store material possessions. Finally, the VNC and majority of neighbors oppose it. This project is so ill-concieved, dangerous to local kids, back-doored under the noses of neighbors and local elected officials and sure to fail that I can't believe we are even talking about it.

A homeless shelter should not be put near an elementary school.. Plus there is a senior center that is needed for the community & the dog park.

I am a concerned parent of a child at Westminster Elementary. Why would anyone choose to put storage lockers for the homeless across the street from an elementary school? This makes no sense.

I live too close by for this facility and park to be taken away from us. More importantly I have a 4 year who is now attending Westminster Elementary right across the street. This is an unacceptable option across the street from a school of small children.

My daughter attends Westminster Elementary and I am absolutely appalled that a homeless gathering place would be encouraged right across the street from a school!! How sad for such an amazing neighborhood as well. Attracting even more homeless to this area is horrible for the entire community. How sad and such complete disregard for the safety of our children.

This homeless center is too close to a school and public park!

There are fewer and fewer places where I can take my 15 month old son to enjoy shade under a tree, a run in the grass and a kick of a soccer ball with me, his dad. As a 15 year home owner (a block away) I can tell you that it is already a homeless encampment. I don't have the space to write the multiple crimes and civil violations I have personally witness around and in that park. Unless the city and Councilman Bonin have a plan on how to get the homeless from the proposed storage facility out of the neighborhood and back, you are asking this park, the residents and the business surrounding to shoulder hundreds of more homeless each and every day. Like Santa Monica and its 500 units, this should happen but in an industrial area...not a neighborhood.
