Letter To Naming Committe...part 2
Feb 18, 2013 — I started this petition because I wanted the committee to realize just how many people feel that it's important for MISD to choose this name. We have been given a chance to honor our home town heroes. Future students will take great pride in the name and veterans will know that we appreciate what they have given up for our freedom.
In just eleven days 3,03 1people signed this petition. Midlothian residents made up 1,141 of those signatures. People from 47 states showed their support by signing. There are signatures from 12 different countries. Pretty amazing from a petition that was basically just circulated by word of mouth on Facebook.
Some of the people left comments voicing their opinions on the petition which I have also included. Several are from Midltohian alumnae that are now serving in the military else where. A few were from graduating seniors who remember Chris Kyle coming to speak to their class and how he inspired them.
