The signers of this petition would like to reinforce our support for the Middletown NJ Police Department by demanding that the Thin Blue Line on Kings Highway be repainted. We respect our local police and the job they do protecting our community. We believe that they execute their duty responsibly with respect for all.

We further believe that a unilateral condemnation of all police in light of the murder of George Floyd is unwarranted. The problem needs to be corrected where the problem exists. Supporting police who do their job in a respectful and professional manner is not inconsistent with the mission of the BLM movement, nor does it demonstrate a disrespect or an opposition to their core values.

We fully believe that the Middletown Police Department will take swift appropriate action against any of its officers who act inappropriately, we see no reason to condemn the department  and we wish to reaffirm our community's support for them.
