We request that Middleton High School allocates resources for better maintained restrooms on campus. The bathroom facilities are in a sorry state. There is never any soap, hand towels, or other basic sanitary necessities. The floors are constantly coated in puddles of a mysterious substance that people, as one student put it, “refuse to acknowledge for the sake of their sanity.” The situation has become so bad that it is no longer about student comfort, but about our right to use an even semi-acceptable restroom. Another major issue is the constant inaccessibility of over half the bathrooms on campus due to them being locked. This forces many students to have to trek across campus, from building to building and floor to floor, in order to find a washroom that is open. Students should not have to play a game of “guess the right restroom” in order to relieve themselves.

We understand that it is difficult to keep the bathrooms clean and stop students from vandalizing them, but the current solution to the problem (the one where they simply ignore it) is not working!
