In light of a recent gas well explosion in Greene Co, PA (among others), this is simply a common sense precaution protecting our most valuable assets while the debate regarding safety is ongoing. Kids need space, let's give them a couple miles.

Please help us protect over three thousand children in the Mars Area School District by preventing construction of hydraulic fracturing well pads within a two mile radius around the school district property. Mars Area Schools may already have other risky industrial activities putting our children at risk, but we have before us an opportunity to prevent an accident before it happens. In the past few months alone there have been multiple catastrophic explosions in various phases of hydraulic fracturing. This is not a proven safe industry and by not creating a safe zone for our children you are not only putting the children at risk you are also potentially putting the townships at risk in the form of liability and damaging our property values if there were to be an incident near the schools. Please help us.
