The parents of St Edwards RC Primary school, the parishioners of the Holy name of Mary Church and the residents of Linthorpe, Middlesbrough, TS5. 

We are petitioning to have the speed limit reduced from 30mph to 20mph on The Avenue, Linthorpe from the roundabout at Orchard road round to the Methodist church and on Eastbourne road from The Avenue junction to The Palladium shops at all times.

We are also asking for provision of zebra crossings on both these roads so that children going to school, parishioners using the church and local residents have a safe place to cross these increasingly busy roads. At present we have a lollipop lady on these roads at school times but there have been increasing incidents of cars speeding or not seeing the lollipop lady and we are concerned a more serious incident is likely to happen. Also the school pupils have to cross these roads following after school clubs and parishioners are using the church at all times of the day and currently people are struggling to find a safe place to cross especially at rush hour times.
