Hi,

My name is Audrey Lausterer. I am a Music Business student at Middle Tennessee State University. Currently, all of my classes are online or remote due to Covid-19. As I agree with the university taking precautions and moving classes online, I do not agree with the cost. As one of many college students trying to make ends meet during a global pandemic, I believe that a tuition discount would help myself and thousands of others continue their education.

What I am asking for from Middle Tennessee State is a 1/4 reduction of every students tuition. This reduction would be the compensation of having remote or online classes that are otherwise not recommended to be taken over zoom. As many of my peers and friends are out of state students, their tuition bills currently sit at $15,000 for a fall semester of online classes. I believe it is unacceptable to charge thousands of dollars to young adults for a modified education. Online classes are not the education we applied for, and therefore I believe we should not pay an in person course price.

As an institution, I believe that Middle Tennessee State University should have the dignity and respect for their students to discount their tuition for the Fall 2020 semester. I know myself, my family and many others would be incredibly grateful.
