Mixer’s current community guidelines regarding clothing rules are not in line with any other platform. Twitch, Instagram, Facebook and DLive permit clothing exceptions for artists. The existing restrictions for Mixer only permit wearing a crop top on an 18+ rating, and the top of the garment must be visible at all times.

These restrictions not only affect artists from other platforms to feel free to try Mixer, but it also affects makeup artists on Mixer who only want the freedom to do complete character paints, as well as those who only want the freedom to zoom in sufficiently to do their paints without needing to have the top of their shirt visible.

The makeup community on Mixer has whittled down as artists have sought out other platforms to have the freedom they need to do their work. We are asking for the bare minimum in modernizing the rules.

My proposed updates:

1. Similar to Twitch you need pasties and paint on the chest before stream start.
2. No extreme camera angles such as directly above or below.
3. Permit streaming on teen if wearing a tube top, so artists just painting on their shoulders don't need to mark their stream as mature.
4. You cannot offer to remove paint or paint the chest for donations of any kind (sparks/subs/etc)
5. You must have your face visible and not have the camera only on your torso/lower body.
6. Paint can only go down to hips, pants required.

I have dedicated 3 years of my life to caring for the creative community on Mixer and trying to assist in its growth. I have done my best to communicate with Mixer through the proper channels (DMs with the partner management team, as well as e-mails to the community Guardians and the partner team.) for a year now to get the rules modernized, and it has reached a point that updates have entirely stopped, and it has become clear nothing will change without public influence. I love my platform and I want the creative community to succeed.
