Since time passes fast when you sleep in real life and minecraft, it would make more sense that things would progress faster. In minecraft at the moment, the night skips and the only thing that changes is the light level, and everything else carries on at normal speed. If furnaces would smelt faster when you sleep then it would be much more handy and you could get your items quicker. This would make it easier for everybody. Please consider this as it would be a great feature to the game.
