There are more than 40 million Kurds all around the world. Their homeland is divided and they mainly live in 4 countries that deprive them from their basic rights. For example, in Turkey it was forbidden to talk Kurdish until late 1990s. Many Kurds were not granted citizenship in Syria even now. There are millions of Kurds living abroad to escape the harsh oppression in their native countries. Many researchers like Tove Skutnabb-Kangas believe that what is going on in Turkey is a linguicide against Kurdish language. Despite all this hardship, there are thousands of Kurdish websites, publishers, companies and individuals all around the world that use Microsoft products (Windows different OSs, MS Office, Windows Phone and Mobile OSs). But there is no support forKurmanji (Northern) Kurdish in Microsoft products and services.
There is a Kurdish keyboard for Central Kurdish based on Arabic alphabet in Windows 10, but the Northern Kurdish (Kurmanji) keyboard is not included.
We ask for a native keyboard for Kurmanji in Microsoft Windows operating system.
