Speed limit for oversize loads in Michigan
This petition had 480 supporters
The current speed limit for an oversize load traveling on Michigan highways are 35mph on 2 lane and 45mph on 4 lane. This is more of a safety hazard to not only the load bit the motoring public as well. The load becomes a hazard when other traffic is traveling 70mph and all other commercial vehicles are traveling 65mph. At no time should they be required by permitted provisions to travel below the posted minimum highway speed which is 55mph. These loads impose a danger to everyone on the highway under current laws and the permitted speeds definitely need to be revised as to not cause them to be so.
