Menstruation is a normal and healthy part of life for most women and transgender men. It is a natural function of their biology. And yet, so many are ashamed to even talk about it. It is so stigmatized that period products are taxed as luxury items in Michigan and many other states. Many people do not have access to these vital products. For young people, this can cause them to miss out on school and deprive them of their education. It is also a health issue. Poor menstrual hygiene has been linked to reproductive and urinary tract infections. No person who goes through menstruation should be denied these necessities and subjected to health problems.

This is not just a problem people with periods have to deal with. You don't have to go through menstruation to advocate for the removal of the pink tax. 

So, what can you do? Sign this petition, spread the word, start having more conversations about menstruation, and educate yourself and others about this subject. Alert Jocelyn Benson and the Michigan government about this issue and don't give up until the sales tax on menstruation products is removed.
