Petition Closed

Criminal sodomy laws were ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court in 2003. However, 18 states still have criminal sodomy laws on the books. Having laws like these on the books tells LGBT people that they remain to be seen as less than their heterosexual neighbors.

I don't have to tell you that Michigan is one of those states. Michigan has an appalling history of enforcing this unconstitutional law, and the law carries a maximum 15 year sentence. It's time Michigan caught up with the times and repleal the state's criminal sodomy laws.
