lift ban in Michigan prohibiting MHSAA athletes from doing outside sports with a nationals
0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!
Michigan is the only state prohibiting MHSAA athletes from doing outside sports with a national competition. If the athlete is capable of keeping up with his/her grades and both sports, they should be able to do both. For example, I do competitive cheer outside of school and I have since I was 4. Now that I'm in high school I want to be able to do school competitive cheer as well but I'm not allowed to. This isn't just cheerleading. It goes for ALL NHSAA sports. Even if you were trying to do softball and cheer you wouldn't be able to, and in order to switch from outside to NHSAA you would have to be out of your outside sports for 1 year. So in order to be able to do Competitive cheer through the school, I would have to be off the mats for 1 year.
