Stop stacking $31 overdraft fees to take advantage of struggling people

Michigan First Credit Union should reverse it's policy of taking advantage of struggling people--including students and Americorps volunteers--by stacking $31 overdraft fees and abusing the overdraft service to make quick and substantial money off of their members. Help me tell Michigan First that one $31 fee per mistake is more than enough.
As an Americorps member, I take home a very modest living stipend every 2 weeks. We struggle to make ends meet so that we can serve as a full-time volunteers in struggling high schools in Detroit. Michigan First Credit Union took away half of my paycheck overnight, charging me $155 in overdraft fees when I overspent on my groceries by just $16. Help me take a stand and tell Michigan First that this is unjust and obscene.
When I called to speak to a customer service representative, I was told that because 5 purchases I had made before I went grocery shopping were run as credit, they did not go through right away, allowing Michigan First to charge me a new $31 overdraft fee for each of 5 small charges that left me $16 in the hole. This policy allowed Michigan First to make a nearly 1000% return on my one $16 mistake at the grocery store. In good faith, I accidentally spent $16 more than I thought I had on groceries, and was charged $155 in overdraft fees. This service is clearly designed to take advantage of those members who are struggling the most. Join me in sending a message to Michigan First Credit Union that this is wrong and inhuman.
