Change michigan constitution to remove clause that bans the death penalty.
After the recent mass shooting at Oxford High School by confirmed gunman and domestic terrorist Ethan Crombley, which left 4 students dead and 7 others injured (some still fighting for their lives), Michigan must use their powers to ensure these tragic events never happen again. The threat of serving time in prison may not he enough to stop the actions of a crazed blood-thirsty lunatic, but the threat of death might.
In 1846 Michigan become the 1st state in the country to include a constitutional clause which bans the death penalty. Today we ask the Governor, courts, Senators, and all other state representatives to remove this clause and once again make the death penalty an option in the state of Michigan. Tragic events, such as the senseless deaths of children, need to stop!
We need justice for Madisyn Baldwin. We need justice for Tate Myre. We need justice for Hana St. Juliana. We need justice for Justin Shilling. We need justice for those wounded physically, mentally, and emotionally. We need closure and we need to fight for what's right!
Please join me in letting our elected officials know we are done with allowing our children to live in fear, and we are done with thoughts and prayers. We need change now!
