My name is Jasmine Stewart. I am the mother of 2 amazing children: Jacques Edmond (7yrs) and Carmine Stewart-Triana (18mos) 

Abandoned by my family at 16 I was forced to grow up early and with no guidance. At 19 I had my first child and my vision for the future was bright. I worked and loved my family. After being a victim of infidelity and abuse in my relationship, my sons father made an elaborate plot to take full custody of the child due to my lack of experience with and around the court systems in America. It worked, and for 5 years I spent thousands of dollars and countless hours driving throughout the states to earn a place in my sons life when I had done absolutely nothing against him as a mother I have always been his greatest fiduciary. At the end of the nightmare my son suffered a head injury and I was then given full custody and the peace of mind to care for my son again like it should have been all along. Yet my son has to suffer the consequences, physically and emotionally. Why?

Fast forward to today after having my second child. The relationship began to fail and become first emotionally abusive and then physical. It was a repeat of my past and I made a decision to leave. Early in the morning I got the kids ready packed some clothes grabbed my wallet and took off for California back to my sisters house where I knew my kids would be safe and I would be well respected. I never made it. On a long road in the state of Illinois my car ran out of gas. I was unable to find a service station in time. So a couple drove  me and my kids into the closest city to get some help. The help I received was the state of Illinois taking my kids and accusing me of being psychotic. Pressuring me to take medication without ever talking to a doctor or recording an actual diagnosis. I was being harassed and my kids were kidnapped from me. Help would have looked like a tow truck or 20$ and a gas can. This was pure manipulation and my kids were the main victims. 

The reason why I am writing this petition today is to advocate for change in the process of determining custody rights, for a complete investigation to be done before children are torn away from parents and for racial discrimination to end within America. I have never received anything “helpful” from the family justice system my family is constantly being taken from and bullied rather than empowered to become a strong and fortified American unit. EVERY LEGACY MATTERS! The proof is self evident in the America you see today. Please help me fight for change and get my kids back!
