Reinstate parents rights in NM!

Reinstate parents rights in NM!

The Issue

Have you, or someone you know had your/ their kids taken away in NM? Well this petition is to please ask the state of NM to give the Judges Power to reinstate parental rights. Parents whom have completely changed the circumstances in which led to CYFD getting involved. There are 22 states that have a law in which gives Judges the power to reinstate a parents right after it's been terminated, New Mexico is NOT one of them. Some of the circumstances in the law would include but not limited to, children cannot have already been adopted, 3 years would have to pass before you could file for reinstatement and your circumstances in which the children were taken will have had to change 100%. Right now, NM Judges do not have the power to give a parent their rights back after termination, once they are terminated they are terminated forever. Even if in the future you are the best interest of your child you will never get that chance again. With this law you would still have a chance. Rapist and murderers get a second chance after they do prison time, parents living without their children for 3 years is a 3 year prison sentence for us. So why not give us that chance if our children have not already been adopted out? By signing this petition you are supporting thousands of parents who have changed their lives and deserve their children to come home! It would be under a certain criteria of course and rules but they could see their kids and get that second chance. Please sign and share! And remember we will never give up!!!
