In Nm and in schools all over America, kids have around 6-7 hours of school per day. And when they get home they have to do homework. Home should give their mind a rest, not be a place to continue school. Kids live in different home situations. Some live with both their parents in a nice household with all the time in the world. Some have single parents running multiple jobs, forcing the child to babysit their siblings while simultaneously trying to do homework. It wouldn’t be fair to grade both of these equally. It should be schoolwork done in class and graded towards the end every once in a while to make sure the kids know what they are doing. Let’s make the NM school system more fair!
