As the end of the fall 2021 semester approaches, CUNY is forcing students to come in for final exams. Due to the highly mutated COVID omicron variant expected to hit NY state in the coming days, it is not safe for students to come in.  New York state has declared a state of emergency due to the variant, and the CDC has reported the risk of the variant is "very high" since there has been a spike of cases. It is unfair for students to jeopardize their lives and families for an in-person final exam, especially when our previous exams have been online.

Omicron demonstrates that the reign of COVID 19 is clearly not over. By forcing us to come in CUNY shows a lack of compassion and empathy for its students.

Please sign the petition to show administration officials at CUNY schools that this unacceptable.
