The banning of clubs during our free period will greatly affect students futures. Many students that are in clubs are also in extra curricular activities that meet after school such as sports, theatre, band, orchestra, etc. People that are club leaders in theater will not be able to meet for clubs after school due to set build days and practice days. Marching band kids and sports kids will be worn out since they only have about a hour and half after school before practice. Kids having to choose between their beloved club and their extracurricular is emotionally damaging. It will also affect college resumes due to them having to drop many clubs. They will have a lack of school involvement. Banning clubs during the school day also affects minorities such as LGBT people and people of color. Not only is it hard for LGBT students to find a sponsor that can stay after school. They would lose a large amount of their attendees due to students not being out . It would be a safety hazard.

According to the Washington Post a majority of public school students on average are impoverished. Impoverished students cannot afford to stay after school or drive to school early. To some impoverished students, clubs are their only chance to get school involvement which they need for scholarships and resumes. Implementing this ban on clubs during the school day is an attack on vulnerable groups of student. Therefore this ban should not go through do to the large population of BHSN it would be affecting.
