NHS staff are being bombarded with PCN (penalty charge notices) for parking within hospital grounds to do our jobs as health care staff.

We pay a monthly cost at our own expenses to keep a permit that entitles us to park in staff parking however there is just not enough parking spaces for staff to park.

Even with over flow car parks being utilised there is a serious shortage of space in many hospital grounds leaving staff forced to park where it is safe to park and being left with a hefty fine to park to go and do our jobs.

There needs to be an alternative and some recognition that it is unexcecptable to expect staff to pay for parking, to not provide enough spaces for staff to park and then capitalising on that by fining staff for parking where safely possible to enable us to do our jobs.
