10 Days of Paid Domestic Violence Leave

A survey of domestic violence data in Australia revealed that 1 in 3 women, and 1 in 5 men have experience at least one incident of violence from a current or former partner since the age of 15. Domestic violence isn’t just hitting, or fighting, or an occasional mean argument. It is a chronic abuse of power. The abuser tortures and controls the victim by calculated threats, intimidation, and physical violence. Physical violence is often the end result of months or years of intimidation and control. Between 2014 and 2016 there were 264,028 domestic violence incidents reported and recorded.
I am supporting the Australian Council of Trade Unions for families with domestic violence to have 10 days of paid domestic violence leave. Help support me by signing my petition and making a difference.
