Housing is a human right - tell government to commit to fixing homelessness.

Housing is a human right - tell government to commit to fixing homelessness.
“Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of him[her]self and of his[her] family, including food, clothing, housing, medical care, and necessary social services…“ (United Nations, 1948, Article 25.1) - Declaration of Human Rights
So why then does the Australian government not take this human right seriously?
Why are they failing to provide the most basic of human rights?
Do our ministers really care about human rights?
Millions of dollars are being frittered away on hotel rooms for short-term accomodation, yet there is no federal policy or framework to provide long-term sustainable housing which forms the basis for everything else.
According to BevanWarner, CEO of LaunchHousing “governments in Australia do not take the issue of homelessness seriously enough… while education and health are viewed as fundamental to society … access to housing is not supported in the same way…“We don’t have a housing policy or a housing framework that says the first-order priority of government is that everyone should have a home” (MC, 2022, para 27)
Tell government to fix the housing crisis now!
