Show your support for a skate park as part of the Lionel Watts redevelopment

A skate park was included in the original plans for the Lionel Watts redevelopment. Since then, a small yet vocal number of local residents have opposed the skate park as part of the redevelopment. Without overwhelming local support, the skate park may not be included in the final redevelopment plans. From a quick straw poll, there appears to be overwhelming support for the skate park to be included, but we need to formalise this support through a petition to the Northern Beaches Council.
A local skate park will provide our children and youth with a place to socialise, release energy the right way, provide more options to exercise and learn new skills. Skate parks are a great way to encourage more outside time especially for today's screen driven generation.
Lionel Watts is a suitable and central location as it is easily accessible from local schools and homes, the Glenrose Shopping Centre, the library, theatre, and sporting fields. Our children and teenagers deserve the opportunity to have activities included in the redevelopment, and to be recognised as part of the community. Please show your support by signing this petition.
