Brad Callaghan started this petition to Michael Regan (Northern Beaches Council Mayor) and

The goalposts at Harbord Park are taken away every year between September and March leaving hundreds of disappointed children who now can't go to the park and practise kicking goals. We should be encouraging our kids to exercise as much as possible, especially during lockdown. Not to mention the mental health benefits. There are almost 300 Harbord Devils players alone who use the posts. Add all the Harlequin Junior Rugby Union players as well and thats a lot of children missing out.

I understand this is because of the cricket season. Cricket is only played on weekends whereas when the goalposts are up they are used every day.

I am requesting that the two goalposts on the southern end of the park are left up all year round. These goal posts are nowhere near the cricket playing area so there is no reason for them to be taken away. Lets do this for our children. It breaks my heart to see the disappointment on the faces of all the kids who go to the park just after the goalposts have been taken away.
