Petitioning to have lighted fields open to the public at Embrey Mill Park throughout the late fall/winter/early spring months. The community taxes pay for the use of parks, however, during the winter months many families are not able to utilize the facilities during the week as the fields are not lighted and many working parents are not able to make it to a park before dark. Keeping a field lit for the community would provide a safe environment for our children to run and play for families of all incomes. Renting a field for an individual is simply not a viable option as the price for lights and field rental are high for a middle or lower class individual. Please consider signing this petition to provide a free option for families in our Stafford community to get fresh air and exercise while maintaining safe distance in an open field environment. Furthermore providing a lighted field would be an attractive feature, sponsored by the county to make Stafford an elite community that values its families. Similar to the movies the field of dreams, we believe that if you light it they will come!
