Stop Model Aircraft registration/accreditation in Australia.

Model aircraft have been flown safely  in Australia for the last 90 years with sufficient  regulation. Model aviation enthusiasts take safety very seriously and will continue to do so into the future.

The CASA has proposed changes to the current arrangements that will require all model aircraft operators to register and undertake accreditation  at a cost. Whilst the AMAS Inc does not oppose safe flying and training, it does not agree that this solution will being effective.

Charging fees to mothers, fathers, families to partake in this very safe past time, having to register and be accredited does not address any of the challenges to model aviation in the 21st century. We call on the government federal minister, the honorable  Mr Michael McCormack to cease and  reconsider the proposal for model aircraft operator registration and accreditation.
