Ban single use plastics

With the EU planning a ban on single use plastics, the UK must follow them in a post-brexit world with our own ban in place on single use plastic. This is an issue which affects not just people within the UK but around the world and it is crucial that we take action quickly.
Plastic waste can be reduced in many ways, a ban on plastic straws (switching to paper straws), wooden sticks in cotton buds as opposed to plastic and deposit schemes on bottles etc.
As it stands by 2050 the weight of plastic in the oceans is set to exceed that of sea life.
320 million tonnes of plastic are produced every year worldwide with 40% being disposed of after several minutes of usage. Just 5% of all plastic is effectively recycled.
Please sign this petion to apply pressure to our government to make our future more sustainable.
