Requesting Michael Gould, Independent, to stand down in the December 12th general election
Why this petition matters

By standing in this election in order to 'see (his) name up in lights,' Michael Gould risks giving victory to the current Conservative government who are responsible for many of the ills of our society which he decries in his campaign leaflet and which he would agitate to remedy were he to win the election. He knows that there is no hope of that happening.
There is a chance that he will receive enough votes to give victory to the current government. Rosie Duffield, the only credible opposition to the Tories won the last election by 187 votes. Gould could take some of those and deliver victory to those he blames for the ills he sees in society.
We urge him to consider the possible consequences of his action and urge him to stand down as did the Green Party candidate, Henry Stanton and the local Lib Dem candidate Tim Walker.
Please think of the county's future and stand aside.
Michael Gould is a good man. He was once my landlord and I am on friendly terms with him but I think he has got it wrong this time and he will not be popular locally if Rosie's slim majority is overturned
