Make us safe: scrap the Trident nuclear weapons system
Nuclear weapons are routinely transported on UK roads from Berkshire to southern Scotland. A nuclear sub carries enough firepower to kill 10 million people and cause climate chaos: these convoys are bringing that threat to our homes, schools, workplaces, and hospitals.
The fallout from a radiation leak or terrorist attack would be catastrophic.
The only way to eliminate that risk is to eliminate the weapons.
Possession of nuclear weapons is a decision, not a necessity. At the same time as the UN is negotiating the terms of a ban on all nuclear weapons, the UK government is considering renewing Trident, Britain's nuclear arsenal.
Mr Cameron is responsible for our safety and the safety of people across the globe.
We ask David Cameron to make us all safer by scrapping Trident: the only action that will end the transportation of nuclear weapons through our towns and take a significant step towards a global treaty that bans nuclear weapons.
