Stonehenge has been a waypoint for Britons travelling for thousands of years.

English Heritage are nicely shoring up the whole area so that the ONLY way to see it will be if you PAY or are a chosen few.

Where the A3086 joins the A360,English Heritage (it should be BRITISH Heritage to appease all the sites NOT in England) have put the Car Park.. you cannot drive down there, or even see it from there...the other end of that road that used to exit on the A303 is gone totally.A farm track on the A303 that folk used to pull up in and view the stones has been appropriated and blocked off...

So if English Heritage's ploy ISN'T money driven (they constantly hide behind being a charity, pollution and traffic issues) let them build an area on the existing A303 (once this ugly, destructive  dual carriageway/tunnel is built)so that British people can still view this monument whilst travelling instead of paying for a huge extortionate price for a ticket.Tourists will still flock to it like Lambs to the slaughter (but not ON the Slaughter Stone,as even when you PAY £17.50-19.50. At least.. you cannot get near it)
