Judge Martin Nolan has been handing out lenient sentences for crimes involving  Sexual violence and abuse for a long time in Ireland.

He is well known for giving suspended sentences to offenders who have been proven to be guilty. This is unacceptable and diminishes faith in the justice system.

Because of the actions of this judge many victims of sexual based crimes feel that there is no point in trying to prosecute their perpetrator.

We the people of Ireland, are calling for the resignation of Judge Martin Nolan immediately to help improve the justice system and ensure that perpetrators are being sentenced appropriately for their crimes.

This is the second time the people of Ireland have called for his resignation.

Less than 5% of these type of cases even go to court. Which is why it is extremely important that our judiciary system is filled with Judges who honour their position and impose sentences that are fitting to the crime.

Sexual violence and sexual abuse leave long lasting psychological affects which have been well researched and documented over time. And these crimes should be dealt with accordingly.
