Keep Uber in London

This petition had 837 supporters

Transport for London has announced it will not renew Uber's licence in London. This comes into force from 1 October!

While there are clearly some issues with Uber's working practices and corporate responsibility that need to be addressed, simply banning them from London's streets is not the solution.

What about the millions of ordinary London travellers, citizens and visitors who rely on Uber to get around. This is serious. Some people rely on Uber to get home at night or make urgent journeys from tricky locations. Public transport and black cabs are not alsways available. I don't think it's fair to penalise these people.

Also what about the thousands of reasonably content Uber drivers who will be denied eawnings by this ruling. Sure, pay them the minimum wage and more from your huge revenues, but don't make ordinary people who have enjoyed cost savings, convenience and electronic payment suffer.

We urge the Mayor of London, TfL and its top official, Michael Brown, to look favourably on Uber's appeal and review and overturn this ruling.
