A study done by IGN direct showed that 87% of teens didn’t know how to pay/do their own taxes. This is not only an astonishing number, but entirely real. Taxes have been around since the 1930’s and since the 1930’s, young adults fresh out of college, or still in college, have struggled with paying their taxes, and budgeting. A recent study by education tech company EverFi found that the average U.S. college student can answer only about a third of basic financial questions correctly, and the average college senior graduates with more than $4,000 in credit card debt due to poor budgeting. I believe that this is an important subject that has been going on for just too long, I believe that schools should teach their students some budgeting, and tax basics.
