My 3 year old son with special needs whom is also non verbal, Mario D Hamlin Jr. was the victim of child abuse by the hands of his Pre K ESE teacher Moira Mcan it happened Wednesday March 15, 2017 at the school. I went to pick up Mario like any normal day but this day was far from normal, as I proceeded to go to my son I notice another teacher was bringing him to me stating that the principal needed to see me and when I went to the principal's office I was informed that my son is the victim of child abuse. As a mother, I died inside. I don't even hit my son how dare anyone else . My son can not defend himself but we can defend him and be his voice there is strength in numbers. What I want to see happen: the abuser needs to be arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse on a disabled individual, 3 dimensional cameras need to be installed in all ESE classes( I especially want cameras installed in my son's classroom) had those cameras been in place from the start  I don't believe my son would not have been a victim of child abuse that has taken place. Or at least we would have the scopitory evidence to prove what another teacher witnessed and reported. It would have definitely supported the claim of child abuse. There were similar alarming aligations at a Miami Beach school and they had cameras and the perpetrator was arrested and charged.what I want to see happen Mandatory training for all ESE teachers there should be no option to opt out there are far too many abuse cases at the hands of educators, cameras installed in my son Mario's class as well as all other ESE classes not just in high school ESE classes our smaller children with special needs need protection from animals like Mrs Moira Mcan and her inhumane, tactical and aggressive approach on our most vulnerable.ESE students have a right to an education just as any child has the right. He is deemed disabled by the State of Florida Mario's IEP speaks for him. Our children are our future but mine are my legacy. I want change I want to see change for Mario and other children. I want to expose child abuse and practice awareness of the limitations special needs children and how we can help collectively and individually to make the necessary changes to improve our level of security for our children parents and faculty alike.
