Please reopen condo pools exclusively for swimming and exercise. The reason for shutting down the pools was to avoid people socializing around it, but the ones most affected by it were those who use it for swimming. I read several reports of people saying how they've been impacted by the pools' closure (people who are very overweight, physically impaired, elders, pregnant women, among others). We understand this order was issued in good faith to help control the spread of the virus, and we commend the authorities of Miami-Dade County for it. However, our health is paying the price.

Therefore, a compromise to address the issue of people who lost their only way of exercising would be: to remove ALL FURNITURE from pool area, but also to forbid people to take their own chairs, towels and other apparatus for staying in the pool area. Buildings can also be instructed to implement a schedule so that 1 unit at a time use the pool, that is, in a specific time slot, only people who are already quarantined together would use the pool.

Also, with so many people walking, biking and jogging on the streets because they have no other option, the streets are full of people concentrated in some very few areas. This creates natural crowding. Reopening condo pools seems like a way to offer a safe option to people and take the load off the streets.

Swimming is an individual sport practiced in a virus-and-bacteria-killing medium. This is what the CDC says:

"There is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of pools, hot tubs or spas, or water playgrounds. Proper operation, maintenance, and disinfection (e.g., with chlorine and bromine) of pools, hot tubs or spas, and water playgrounds should inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19." https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/php/water.html

CDC also recommends exercising regularly as a way to cope with stress and boost your immune system:

Kindly consider this petition. It will greatly benefit people's health. Especially the health of those who need to exercise regularly without impact on joints, back, etc. Thank you.
