Reduced fare MetroCards for New York City college students

My name is Alec Marcus Hall and I am a Brooklyn native and graduate student at Hunter College and recently graduated from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Many native New Yorkers go to college in the city to try to achieve their passions and elevate their status in society, others from elsewhere want to achieve their hopes and dreams in the city that never sleeps to achieve their education in the greatest city in the world. As you should know, being a college student is a financial burden on many. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) offers no type of reduced fare on MetroCards for College students. I’m very surprised that there has been nothing for the students that try to achieve an education in this beloved city. There is so much this city has to to offer to a student going to school here whether they are a native New Yorker, or if they are from elsewhere. However, it is impossible to see what this city has to offer if students can barely afford MetroCards to navigate this city. I am making this petition to have reduced fare for college students in New York City because we definitely deserve it.
