In a shock announcement On Friday 8 December 2017 the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority (MRA) rejected a landmark $450m twin tower proposal at Scarborough by developer 3 Oceans. The decision came as a bitter blow to huge numbers of excited Perth residents who appreciate the overwhelmingly positive contribution the towers will have in developing a diverse and robust capital-city-economy.

Despite the existing planning framework technically not allowing for such height, the developer had gone to extraordinary lengths to incorporate design features to ensure the proposal would clearly be in the public’s best benefit. A spectacular public sky deck, vastly improved beach-side amenities and revitalised dining and hotel options are just some of the features that will ensure this development becomes a magnet for both locals, tourists and, of course, future business!

Please sign this landmark petition TODAY to:

·         Secure a progressive and exciting future for our capital city that sends the right message to those interested in its development. Like so many Perthites, we feel the city is on the verge of a great new era as we transition away from the shackles of boom-and-bust economic cycles.

·         Send a message of support to the developer ‘3 Oceans’. STAY STRONG and know that Perth is with you every step of the way!

·         Send a thunderclap to our Planning Minister and the MRA that Perth is bitterly disappointed with this decision, which is clearly misaligned with the community’s expectations for Scarborough and our city’s future. We want this development proceed AS IS, without the scaled-back, stifling compromise that Perth developments have become globally renowned for.

So, say ‘Yes!’ to an exciting new Scarborough and to a vibrant future for our state capital!
