Stop the cancellation of Bus Route 38/38A

GO bus #38/38 A is being eliminated by Metrolinx as of July 1, 2019. This bus is the only connection to the downtown core of Toronto for those living in the Bolton area, including Nobleton, and parts of Brampton along Hwy 50. There are students, single mothers, elderly, and other members of the community who use this bus as their only means of transportation to be gainfully employed.

Speaking from personal experience, Highway 50 in Bolton, is one of the most dangerous roads to drive on because of the increase in transport trucks. Riders do not feel safe driving, therefore, rely heavily on Bus #38/38A. Quite frankly, this puts the safety of several people at risk. In addition, the elimination of this bus is creating a larger carbon footprint as we will be forced to use our vehicles. Members of Parliament speak about transitioning to a low-carbon economy— where is the action to compliment the Report written by the Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development, titled "Better Buildings for a Low-Carbon Future" released in June 2018?

Metrolinx is telling us that the demand has dropped for the bus route, however, this is not the truth. The truth is that the bus schedule has changed therefore making it arguably inconvenient for many riders to take. The citizens of Bolton are suffering from this decision, and this matter requires urgent attention. This is isolating the Bolton community, and quite frankly stranding us. Fellow riders, and the majority are considering moving outside of the Caledon area to have better access to transportation. We require immediate assistance as July 1st, 2019 will approach faster than we anticipate leaving us riders stranded.
