I agree that these scooters are inherently dangerous in an urban environment. I am shocked at the lack of consideration of Brady Gaulke's death and the continued insistence of certain Council members that this is a crucial "first mile, last mile" transportation option that we cannot do without. Some of the scooter companies and one in particular have continued to fail to abide by the dusk to dawn restriction put into place by the Transportation and Licensing Commission, and now there is a push by some Council persons and some other Metro employees to roll back that restriction at today's (August 7, 2019) meeting. I think it is shameful. I hope that members of the public who feel strongly about this issue will attend the public meeting at 2:30 today at the Metro Courthouse to make their feelings known. I cry for your loss, Mr. and Mrs. Gaulke. I hope that our Council and other government members can see their way clear to do the right thing, instead of the thing that the scooter companies want them to do.
My sincere and eternal sympathy on your tragic loss. Sue Palmer

From Singapore to San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Dallas, Chicago, Austin, Louisville - all around the world.

Yes, e-scooters are inherently unsafe in urban environments. With the existing ability to prevent all illegal operation, parking and placement, companies purveying them abrogate their duty to prioritize safety over profit.

This is the federal action awaiting a powerful legal team.

Im Brady's cousin, I live in Wisconsin so that's far from Nashville. I only got to see him once and I will never see him again because of these awful scooters! Help ban them to stop deaths and injury's!

E-scooters are a menace to pedestrians and litter the sidewalks. They serve no legit purpose for people who can walk or ride a bike instead. They have propagated unchecked and unregulated and need to go. I hate them.

Only a matter of time before someone was unfortunately killed regardless who’s fault it is bc the streets and sidewalks are way to busy having to maneuver one of these safely.

There are too many irresponsible people riding them.

Walking around the park is dangerous because of these scooters zipping by and almost hitting people. Sidewalks are for people not scooters

Scooters increase the danger for everyone downtown- those scooting, pedestrians, and drivers.
