Greetings , 

My name is Roubens Paul a Field Protective Specialist with the Marta Police department and the founder of FORTHEKIDSGA, a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization based out of Douglas County, GA.

It is impossible to live in Atlanta without witnessing the pain of homelessness and hunger on our streets. The statistics are frightening: 1 out of every 20 people is without a home, and a much larger percentage of residents go through each day without enough money to pay for adequate food and other necessities such as clothes.

During my time working as an FPS, I’ve noticed the extreme volume of homelessness on the system. During my daily patrols, I’ve seen children along with adults who struggle with providing themselves with enough clothing due to circumstances life has brought upon them. Based on data obtained by MARTA’S HOPE PROGRAM, it shows that on a single night in January 2020, 3,240 people were identified as experiencing homelessness in Atlanta. Of those, 939 were unsheltered.

As FORTHEKIDSGA’S mission displays a vision to make the world a better place not only for kids but for all, I believe local leaders in our community can help FORTHEKIDSGA develop our newest project CCC “COMMUNITY CLOTHING CLOSET “which will assist not only patrons riding the Marta system (Rail & Bus) but will assist any citizen of this great state of Georgia who may need a fresh pair of shoes, pants, shirt, jacket, undergarments or any other items they may need.
