Dr. Kaylan Holloway came to Metro as the Assistant Principal in August of 2019 and was suddenly moved to McKinley High School as the Principal in October 2021. Due to this abrupt change and the latest news that the current Principal, IB coordinator and several other staff members will not be returning next year, the Metro community is at risk. During his time at Metro Dr. Holloway cultivated a brotherhood for minority male students that encouraged them to value their education which resulted in higher academic performance amongst this population. Dr. Holloway, also went above and beyond to ensure that not only the students of Metro were tended to but their families as well. Dr. Holloway was known for meeting the student and their family where they were. Since Dr. Holloway's transfer, minority male students have been impacted significantly. Dr. Holloway is family to Metro and although we had no say in his leaving, we are using our voice to bring him home. Please see the need for Dr. Holloway to return to Metro so we can continue to reach academic success and maintain cultural diversity and awareness within the St. Louis Public School District.
