Recently my father passed away after battling with his health for the last 7 years. In the end he was having complications with his lungs, and due to a slow build-up of CO2 in his lungs, he lacked clarity in his last few months of life. My father started investing in his life insurance policy with Metropolitan Life Insurance (now known as Met Life) when he was 20 years old. Met Life sent a letter stating that they are not going to uphold my father's life insurance policy of $50,000 because he failed to make the last three monthly payments of $9 (totaling $27). It was not a question of money so I can only deduct that my father's lack of clarity was the cause for his lack of payment. My mother was planning on living on that money while we figured out what she could do to for income. Of course we are planning on fighting them and I am willing to do whatever it takes to get them to do the right thing as, in my opinion, this is disgusting.
