Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare employees are being mandated to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by October 31st or be terminated.  This decision is forcing individuals to potentially risk their own health and/or financial survival without accountability to the ones mandating. Over the last year and a half, we've heard all of the heroic compliments and praises to healthcare employees for "risking" our lives for what we do everyday, during a pandemic or not; and, now, our services, our careers are only face valued for a vaccine mandate.

This mandate is unlawful.  They are taking away our autonomy. We are not being given the right to refuse.  We are not being given informed consent.  We are absolutely relinquishing ourselves at the expense of no one, except ourselves and our families.  

We have all worked so hard and passionately for our careers and our patients. And, to know at the end of this, ultimately people will suffer from the decision of others. Regardless if one is vaccinated or unvaccinated, we all have the same God-given right to choose for ourselves and our own well-being.  We must stand together and stop the mandate!
