As an NFL fan, I understand the need for safety and agree mostly that systems need to be in place to protect players. It is also important that NCAA, High School and Pee Wee leagues follow suit.
With that being said, Merton Hanks has arbitrarily fined Ndamukong Suh needlessly on mutliple occasions. Many of these fines have been issued for reasons that weren't evident in the situation. The fans have been outraged on many of these, and we assumed there was an underlying situation. With Merton Hanks speaking out, it has confirmed our suspicions were correct. He was "trying to get Suh's attention". Well he did more than that.
This affects Suh , The Lions, and the city of Detroit adversly. This could easily be any player in the NFL, it it would be ufair to the players livelyhood and to his teams success.
The NFL is set up to be as fair and competitve as possible. Merton Hanks actions defy these qualities and his latest interview confirms this.
It needs to be known to the comissioner, Roger Goodell and all the employees of the NFL that as fans (the people who make the NFL a billion dollar industry) will not stand for it.
