It's time to end all these inhumane things that we do. There are other ways to do medical research. Animals feel pain. How can we continue this? Thank you for this caring boy. We need more children to care like this.

To:
Merck
Kenneth Frazier, President and CEO
The National Institutes of Health recently recommended a proposal to retire the hundreds of federally-owned chimpanzees used in biomedical research, recognizing that chimpanzee research is inefficient and outdated.

The US is the only developed country that continues to perform invasive research on chimpanzees. Although the NIH proposal will go a long way toward ending chimpanzee research, hundreds of chimpanzees remain in private labs. As a leader in the pharmaceutical industry, your commitment to not using chimpanzees in research will help convince the private laboratories to retire their remaining chimpanzees to sanctuaries and instead focus their resources on more effective, humane research.

Please make a public commitment to not use chimpanzees for any future research and development.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Patricia Pérez

Why don't we test on people such as inmates imprisoned for life or on death row? That's how they can pay retribution to society. And at least the results will be definitive when testing on actual humans instead of animals.

Chimpanzee research is unnecessary and disgustingly cruel. Stop this now.
